Untitled Art Houston Estefania Puerta & Y. Malik Jalal

Murmurs is thrilled to take part in the inaugural edition of Untitled Art in Houston, TX. We will be presenting a duo booth in the Nest section featuring works by Estefania Puerta and Y. Malik Jalal.

The fair runs from September 19–21, 2025, at the George R. Brown Convention Center, with a VIP and Press Preview on September 18. Untitled Art’s debut in Texas marks an exciting expansion, aiming to engage new audiences across the state. The Nest section is dedicated to showcasing experimental practices and emerging galleries.

Jalal’s forged steel and iron sculptures, layered with found photographs, trace the echoes of labor and transformation across the American landscape. His practice merges traditional craft and collage to interrogate the material residues of industry and inequality. Puerta’s work re-contextualizes natural materials through a lens of shapeshifting, border crossing, and language failure. Her sculptures invite viewers into speculative worlds where ecological grief and myth-making converge. Both artists explore the emotional and physical toll of extractive systems—whether through the weight of history or the fluidity of identity.
